SS11 Colour Palettes
Blue
This years fresh colour to break up all this seasons black and white is a beautiful range of blues, from a strong midnight blue in Roberto Cavalli and Pringle to cool pastel blue in Ermenegildo Zegna and D&G.
Naturals
This years shows have featured alot of white, even Ann Demuelemeester showed her collection once in all white then again in all black. This has then been broken up by pale greys and browns, seen in Viktor and Rolf and Hermes.
Yellows
This season I have really picked out the hints of yellow seen clearly here in Etro, Jeckerson, Moschino and Ozwald Boateng.
Paris Fashion Week Comme Des Garcons
Comme Des Garcons
Rei Kawakubo has always been one of favourite designers so I awaited her collection with anticipation. This years show was not a disappointment, the collection was almost completely monochrome but with hints of deep red. The checkered and skull prints have been integrated into panels of jackets and trousers even what looks to be skirts! Rei Kawakubo was one of the first designers to introduce deconstruction in fashion and you can tell in the amazing laser cut and paneled jackets.

Paris Fashion Week John Galliano
John Galliano
I would have loved to have seen
this show, every thing about it looks mesmerizing. The models, with make up that could only be described to be a resurrected Charlie Chaplin, casting the humorous character as dark and mysterious walked out from a giant clock down a smokey catwalk. The clothing was strong from the start with the fitted tailored jackets tied or belted at the waist and the oversized drop crotch trousers hoisted up by thick braces.

Paris Fashion Week Thom Browne
Thom Browne
In my search for information on the Thom Browne show I came across this description by dazed.
For his SS11 Presentation he:
'Rent out the Communist Party HQ and stage a fake press conference for returning astronauts and throw a fashion show at the same time'
CRAZY! having already shown his collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu in Milan where he had his models riding around a track on bicycles this designer really pulls it out the bag. Having only recently been introduced to Thom Browne I was very impressed with the Moncler show and this one has been equally impressive. I'm not usually drawn to tailoring but this collection boosted by its amazing presentation, variety of fabrics, candy stripes, patients and shine, can only be described as lush!
